Traumitane Recovery Action
FAQs
Traumitane is an extra-strength topical recovery formulation designed to support the body’s natural recovery processes after exercise, overuse, injury, or everyday aches and stiffness.
Traumitane is ideal for use as a first response for acute injuries and inflammation. Think of it like applying ice to an injury to reduce the effects of inflammation (swelling, redness and bruising) relieving discomfort and promoting faster recovery. Traumitane is ideal for post-exercise application to promote faster recovery.
Percutane is a heat based formula (like Deep Heat, but more effective!) Use Percutane for chronic (long term) issues relating to muscle aches and joint stiffness. Percutane will increase circulation to warm up and activate sore and aching muscles and joints to help get you moving. Percutane is also ideal for use before exercise to increase circulation and get blood flowing to muscles and joints. Because Percutane contains high strength capsaicin (from chillis) it is also perfect for relieving pain from chronic conditions like arthritis.
People commonly use Traumitane to support recovery from:
- Minor injury and trauma to soft tissue
- Overworked muscles & joints
- Inflamed joints & muscles
- Post-exercise soreness DOMs (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness)
- Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
- Sore feet after standing up all day
- Bumps, bruises, strains, sprains
- Mozzie bites and itchy skin
- Applying at night can help reduce body temperature which can assist in getting to sleep on hot, muggy nights.
Traumitane is safe for daily and long term use.

Yes. Traumitane is safe for daily and long-term use because it’s drug-free and doesn’t carry the stomach, kidney or cardiovascular risks associated with regular NSAID use.
Oral anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen and other NSAIDs must pass through your digestive tract and circulatory system before they can take effect, which can cause gastric upset and other side effects in some people.
In most cases, yes — because it’s topical and natural.
Traumitane contains arnica. While topical arnica is generally considered safe for most people, those taking prescription blood thinners may be more sensitive to bruising.
If you are using anticoagulant medication (such as warfarin, dabigatran, apixaban, rivaroxaban, or daily aspirin), it is best to:
- Patch test first on a small area
- Avoid applying to broken skin
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you have any concerns or experience increased bruising
Yes - Percutane and Traumitane can be used together by applying Percutane in the morning and then applying Traumitane in the afternoons/evenings. In this way, the formulas work together to simulate hot and cold therapy, the benefits of which are well known to the medical community and high performance athletes.
No - Traumitane has a refreshing peppermint/menthol aroma that fades as it absorbs. Most users describe it as clean and invigorating—not overpowering.
Most people tolerate Traumitane well. If you have sensitive skin, patch-test first on a small area. Avoid using on broken skin.
Traumitane is powerful when used as part of your post-training recovery routine. After your shower, massage liberally into the worked muscles to:
